Finally, and most importantly, we needed to provide users with feedback so they could improve their shooting ability. From this, Noahlytics was born. The site FortyAU built allows users to see their shots (in real time, while shooting), view rim maps, discover their shooting percentages from key areas on the floor, and several other key information pieces that had never been available.
Our entire solution, starting with a computer vision engine in C++, to a scalable API written in Elixir, to finally a rich web application, was proudly built at FortyAU. The product has been featured in several professional journals, multiple mentions on popular sports television programs, and the resulting data has been submitted to MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference. It has even stood up to the NBA's most prolific shooter, Steph Curry.
